Why Wait?

Why Wait?

As we are just a couple weeks away from entering into 2019 I’d like to share some things with you, and I believe it will be of great value and benefit to all who read and apply as necessary. A couple months ago, I began making mental notes of tasks, goals, and plans that I wanted to begin and fulfill within a certain period of time, and my internal narrative for majority of those action items was: “I’ll start it at the beginning of the New Year.” Somewhere in the midst of my continuing to plan out my goals for the coming year, and as the anthem of “start it next year” became louder and louder, I had an epiphany: “what in the world is stopping you from beginning to make headway on some of these action items….NOW!?!” It was that divine interruption that literally made me realize that there was absolutely NOTHING STOPPING ME from merely STARTING the journey to the change I desire to see. And so, I began to implement some of the strategies that day, which I knew would be needed in order to achieve my long and short term goals.

One of the biggest and most deceptive strategies operating in the universe today, is putting off what you can do now, tomorrow. I believe Benjamin Franklin said it well, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Why? Because we may not have tomorrow…it’s not promised (cliché, but it’s real). Some of the changes that you and I need to make will require that we begin the process TODAY, of deconstructing the toxic behavior that built the negative results that we are currently seeing. If we begin the road to change now, we will see improvement and positive outcomes that will flourish and thrive well beyond 2019. But we have to understand that there are just some things (some patterns, behaviors, thought processes and etc.) that you have to take the “bull by the horns” on RIGHT NOW, because not only does our life’s purpose and destiny depends upon that kind of unrelenting level of aggression, but the health and stability of the positive change we want to see depends upon it as well. Yes, there will be difficulties and challenges even in the process of progress, but you cannot allow that to stop your pursuit of obtaining the very best that God has in store for you. (Btw, did ya’ll picture yourselves taking a literal bull by the horns? I did, and I laughed hysterically…LOL).

So, my fellow brothers and sisters, let’s you and I, jump into the deep and follow hard after God’s plan for our lives starting TODAY, starting RIGHT NOW! There will always be other things vying for our attention, and distractions are inevitable. However, you and I have been given the power that we need to overcome all of that. So, my heart and prayer for each of us today is that we will begin to see ourselves as God sees us, and to take what he has designed, called, and equipped us to do with a greater degree of tenacity and determination. My prayer is that we begin to understand that some of the great things that He has in store for us will only begin to manifest into our reality, IF and WHEN, we make the decision to simply BEGIN THE JOURNEY TO CHANGE.
